RECAP of the 2010 "Adam's Angels DASH"

June 22, 2010

Adam's Angels Ministry is blessed to say we had another successful  "Adam's Angels DASH", A 5K to Dash out Childhood Cancer which was held on Saturday, September 25, 2010.  Approximately 157 participants actually registered to either run, walk or shuffle down the streets of downtown Brenham to help make a difference.  This is not to say there were not more particpants because participants 10 yrs. of age and udner were free and may not have actually registered.  Let me say we had lots of children which was awesome!

The event started at approximately 8:30 am with our childhood cancer warriors, heroes, and angel families making the "special walk" around the courthouse house.  A total of 8 families were represented with two of our warriors being unable to attend due to being hospitalized the night before  The DASH officially started to the "Rocky" theme.  Our Brenham CubFootball Team, Cheerleaders & Mascots, and Brenham Belles were on hand to "high five", run, cheer and/or dance the runners on to the finish line.  The first runner crossed the finish line approximately 21 minutes later.  Post-dash events followed with the talented Tena Rae and her guitarist, Tony Meeks leading the crowd.  Thanks you to Rachael Weiss for sharing her talents as well.  Children enjoyed snow cones, face painting, dancing, and a Jump House sponsored by The Brazos Valley Bombers.  Of couse the event was topped off with our hometown ice cream from Blue Bell Creameries. A special "Balloon Release" was held to honor children fighting cancer, having conquered the beast, and those who fought hard and are now with our "heavenly Father".

Thanks to all the participants for helping to make a difference in the lives of childhood cancer families.  Through everyone's generosity we were able to raise approximately $11,000.  WHAT A BLESSING!
